Volksschule
Seeon
Our school
is the only one and placed in the outskirts of the village Seeon
next to the kindergarten and the sports sites.
The first school
in Seeon was founded in 1754. Our school building was built in 1964/65 and renovated the last time in 1997.
Most of our
pupils from the villages Seeon, Seebruck and Truchtlaching go by
bus.
At present
265 pupils are taught in 10 classes. The school is divided in primary
school (classes 1-4) and into the so-called partial Hauptschule
(class 5 and 6).
The classes 1-4 have two classes for each grade, the classes 5 and
6 one class for each grade.
Pupils go to school from Monday to Friday and it starts at 8.00
a.m. and finish at 1.00 p.m. There are sports lessons from 2.00
p.m to 3.30 p.m on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Each class
is predominantly informed by one teacher in all subjects. Besides
there are special teachers for the subjects manual work, sport/PE
and religion. Altogether 16 teachers teach the subjects at our school.
English instruction
starts in Class 3 with games and songs but without any marks.
In Class 5 pupils have to study grammar, writing and reading. Tests
will be graded.
Our school
has got a computer area, two rooms for manual work, a room for pottery
and a library. Pupils can alternatively take part in working groups
of computer science, school play, choir, music instruments, acrobatic
or preparing school newspapers. And school organises swimming lessons.
Our school
has had a lively school partnership with Türmchen primary school
in Rostock at the Baltic Sea since the year 2000. The relationship
between East and West Germany should be thus promoted. We visit
each other and keep contact via pen pals.
